Cotswolds!
Hello!!! Very fun and adventurous day today! We started out by driving to the Cotswolds from Bath. It took us about an hour and the first Cotswolds town we went to was Bourton on the water. It was the most picturesque town I have ever seen. It was so cute!!! It started to rain a little when we were there so we sat and had a cappuccino and a homemade scone while we waited for it to stop. From there we went to stow on the wold, chipping Norton, broad campden, and chipping campden. Broad campden had the most amazing thatched roof houses and it literally looked like a movie set. Driving through those towns got a little scary because they make the gosh darn streets just big enough for two cars and then people park on the sidewalks, so when your driving you have to say a prayer and hope you don’t get hit when your driving down the road because not only are Europeans crazy drivers but there is also no way two cars fit on those streets! We made it though with no accidents and only 2 or 3 times where mom decided to hop the curb! Hahaha! She also likes to ride the left side and sometimes hit shrubs and branches, therefore I have kept my window shut for my own safety!! J From chipping campden we went to Stratford upon avon. It was a much more commercialized town than I expected and although me and mom wanted to go see Shakespeares house we decided to forgo it because of the crowds and we wanted to check out what else was around. We went to Warwick from there in an attempt to see Warwick castle. The castle was purchased by Tussaud Company a while back and therefore its like a Disneyland attraction and lost all of its charm because of it. We decided to not go in to the castle because of that and just drove around Warwick instead. We were going to stay in Stratford upon Avon but since we didn’t like it as much we thought we would keep driving towards York since that is where we need to be tomorrow. We literally scurried around the countryside all day randomly. We had no clue where we were headed after Warwick and after just checking out the countryside we decided to stay in a town called Louth. It is a picturesque town and by the time we got there it was like 6pm and we couldn’t not find vacancies at the inns ANYWHERE. We were so hungry and sick of driving and getting quite frustrated. One of the inns told us of an inn outside of town and at first we weren’t too excited about staying outside of town but oh my gosh we are so glad we did!! We are staying at a place called Brackenborough Arms. It is SO cute and charming and we had a delicious dinner and I finally had this beer called Caffreys that my mom keeps talking about it and it was absolutely delicious. It was a great way to end the day and the rooms are SUPER nice! I cant wait to take pictures of the inn in the morning because I love it so much, but at this point in the day there is no way I am going to be in any pictures, driving all day doesn’t fare well for the makeup and hair, im not sure why though because its not like I was moving around that much, hmmm I will have to ponder that! Off to York tomorrow, really excited for that!!
