Chinese fire drills!

Another day of driving for us girls. This time destination being Kelmis where Nathalie is living right now. It is right one the border of Germany and Belgium. We got a good start in the morning so we could get there at a decent time in the afternoon knowing it was going to take us about 6 hours. However we got stuck in MASSIVE traffic. We still aren’t sure why they closed the freeway down but we are pretty sure it must have been a bad accident because we saw a lot of police cars and ambulances at the end of the traffic when we were getting detoured. While we were sitting in traffic which was completely stopped by the way we made the most of it. We danced and sang at the top of our lungs with all the windows down quite a few times, getting very strange looks from our other car neighbors! There was a van full of guys next to us at one point and they proceeded to get out of their car and come to our window to tell us they were a bad and gave us all their cd demo for us to listen to. We popped it in and decided German rap/rock wasn’t our style, sorry boys! Much to Nathalies dismay Jenna and I partook in doing a couple Chinese fire drills while sitting in traffic too. Jenna did the first one and then we plotted together to scare Nathalie again and do a dual drill and both of us got out taking Nathalies stuffed animal monkey dangles hostage with us on the Chinese fire drill. She got it on flip video and its pretty dang funny! Once we got out of traffic we made it to Kelmis with no more interruptions. Once we got there we got to meet Alex and see the house Nathalie is staying in which is super cute and the town is really quaint. We all had dinner at a great restaurant in town and then went back to catch the end of the world cup game Germany v. Australia with some of Alex’s teammates. Alex is a pro cyclist and is on a team called NetApp. His teammates were super nice and were from all over the world and I may or may not have thought a couple of them were super cute haha. After hanging out for a while Jenna and I got on the road to make the trek to Brussels because I had to fly out in the morning. It was only an hour drive but it was our first experience driving at night as well as the first time it was just me and Jenna driving. Everything ran smoothly until the GPS decided to take us to the wrong location and detour us like 20 min. It was the exact same address with a slightly different zipcode, how ridiculous is that!! We got quite flustered like Jenna and I do but we managed to get out of the pickle we were in and make it safely to the hotel. Sad that the trip is coming to an end but had such a wonderful time with Jenna and Nathalie and cant wait for our next adventure!!!!
